The Regional Sales Manager / State Head will own the end-to-end sales, business development, and key account management for Kimbal’s smart metering and AMI solutions in the state. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving growth across state utilities, DISCOMs, government agencies, and ecosystem partners, while representing Kimbal as a trusted long-term partner in the region.
The role requires deep understanding of the utility landscape, smart metering programs (AMI / RDSS), tendering processes, and stakeholder management across technical, commercial, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive revenue growth and order intake for smart metering and AMI solutions
Build and maintain strong relationships with state DISCOMs, utilities, government bodies, and key decision-makers
Lead the full sales lifecycle including opportunity identification, pre-sales engagement, bid strategy, tendering, negotiations, and closures
Track and influence upcoming AMI / RDSS / utility modernization programs in the state
Coordinate with internal teams (pre-sales, engineering, project delivery, finance) to ensure competitive and compliant proposals
Represent Kimbal in high-level meetings, reviews, and commercial discussions with customers and partners
Monitor competitive landscape, pricing trends, and regulatory developments impacting the smart metering business
Build and manage local partner ecosystems, system integrators, and channel relationships where required
Ensure smooth handover from sales to project execution, supporting long-term customer satisfaction

Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics preferred); MBA is an added advantage
Experience
12+ years of experience in sales/business development within smart metering, AMI, AMISP, utilities, or power sector solutions
Proven experience working with state utilities / DISCOMs, especially in eastern India
Strong track record in handling large tenders, negotiations, and long-cycle utility sales
Functional & Leadership Skills
Deep understanding of smart metering, AMI, AMISP, and utility business models
Strong commercial acumen with ability to structure and negotiate complex deals
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels
Ability to work independently as a state head while aligning with central sales strategy
Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
